Picture Pool, or Picture Billiards, is a long-term project by Dirk Sanner, finally realized in 2017. Using modified billiard balls, a standard game of billiards is played on a pool table. The balls release their corresponding colors onto the table surface, creating an action painting effect during the game. At the end of the game, the entire surface, including the cushions, is removed from the table and serves as a permanent artwork.
The surface of the table is made with ordinary felt or other textiles.
